Beach Access in Southern Shores

The Southern Shores Civic Association owns and maintains every beach access in the town of Southern Shores. Many are simple simple walkways and steps over the dunes, while some offer parking, restrooms, seating areas and more.

Beach Parking

Hillcrest Beach Access offers beachfront parking, a gazebo, sand volleyball court, an accessible viewing platform, and both stairs and a ramp to the beach. Read more...

In season, the Town of Southern Shores posts a lifeguard stand at the Hillcrest access. You can find out more about Southern Shores surf rescue on the town website.

The SSCA also offers beach access parking at Triangle Park, located at the split between Ocean Boulevard and Duck Road.

Other parking areas near beach accesses require either a Town of Southern Shores Parking Pass or a Chicahauk Parking Pass. Our Community Map shows all the parking areas in town and what permit is required to park there.
