Our Guest Speaker:  

Edward J. Limbacher, Southern Shores Fire Chief - Grew up in Forest Hills Pennsylvania, a suburb approximately 8 miles outside of Pittsburgh, PA. In 1985, he began his public safety career with his hometown volunteer fire department as a junior firefighter. While Ed was attending the University of Pittsburgh, he befriended one of the local police officers who had a profound influence on his career path. In 1993, Ed graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Criminal Justice. I attended the Allegheny County Police Academy in 1994 and began his law enforcement career with the Borough of Swissvale Police Department. In 1998, he was hired by the Borough of Forest Hills Police Department and had ascended to the rank of Captain with the Forest Hills Fire Department. Ed continued serving in those roles until June of 2003.

In 2006, he and his wife moved to their current home in Martins Point here in Outer Banks of North Carolina with their two daughters. He joined the Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department in 2008 and ascended though the ranks until Ed was promoted to Chief in 2014. It has been his pleasure to serve as Chief and have enjoyed the support from the Southern Shores community.
